The Range Now Approaching May Make You Smile

While there’s no shortage of birthday cards out there, finding ones that put a positive spin on the ageing process can be hard to find, something that Pennychoo decided to tackle with this brand new range, Mind the Gap.

And with a growing and increasingly active older population, we think it's well overdue – getting older is now more likely to mean skydiving with meerkats in Belize than snoozing in front of daytime tv.

While taking a wry and humorous look at the unavoidable perils of ageing (expanding waistlines, forgetting where you left the grandchildren – we've all done it), Mind the Gap also celebrates those things you can now get away with – behaving outrageously and having that third custard slice while the rest of the world is busy instagramming kale smoothies.

And while some see life as a box of chocolates, here at Choo Mansions we see it more as an ongoing journey, stopping at some weird and wonderful locations along the way, with every new stop reached deserving a celebration:

While most cards reference ageing, some also make whimsical and profound observations about life, or play on those life affirming clichés and psychobabble philosophies that adorn so many fridge doors:

Playing on the instantly recognisable colours, typefaces and language of the Tube, these cards are sure to bring a wry smile to the face of Londoners and non-Londoners alike. They're perfect for work colleagues, seasoned commuters and those lucky people who no longer have to shoehorn themselves into the 7.15 Sardine Express into Waterloo every morning...

See them all here.

Fiore – a new way to say it with flowers

From the Italian word for flower, Pennychoo has just launched 'Fiore', a new 12 card range of occasions greetings cards linked by a single theme.

Using pretty florals, a retro palette and Pennychoo's trademark printerly textures, this time offset against shimmering silver foils, this is the first time that Pennychoo has dipped its toe into luxury finishes.

The cards are divided into three co-ordinated tiers:

  • Tier 1 consists of silver foiled cards with a luxurious feel for special occasions:

  • Tier 2 includes cards for special occasions, but here, the informal handscript type nestled in a tangle of wild flowers:

  • Tier 3 is more folksy and versatile with simple, contemporary sentiments surrounded by a pretty square border – the perfect cards to keep on hand for those unexpected or last minute card-giving events:

Priced at £3.00 and £2.75, the cards all come with a co-ordinating envelope and protected in a cellophane bag. Click here to immerse yourself in some late summer blooms...

PG Live 2017

Having launched at this event in 2010, Pennychoo is very happy to be making a return to Progressive Greetings Live this year.

Held at London's Business Design Centre in Islington (nearest tube: Angel) on June 6th and 7th, PG Live is "...the UK’s only trade exhibition dedicated to the greeting card industry."

Now in its ninth year, PG Live is now firmly established in the greetings calendar as the place where the world of greeting cards comes together. "A focused, compact show, it is the ideal place to source fresh product and find exciting new publishers and artists."

If you're coming, Pennychoo will be on the ground floor on stand 170. As well as showcasing newer ranges such as Lanyon, Big Top and Primavera, we plan to launch at least one brand new range there too.

Compared to other trade shows, PG Live is intimate, sociable and great fun.
Free show entrance tickets will be offered to: retailers, distributors, wholesalers, retail sales agents, licensors, international visitors and all those wishing to buy products or licence designs from exhibitors.

If you haven't registered yet, visit https://www.progressivegreetingslive.com
